Hopper Screw Pump
Hopper Screw Pump
The Hopper Screw Pump is a progressive cavity pump mounted below a large hopper inlet, enabling gravity-fed transfer of thick pastes, sludge cakes, and high-solids materials that cannot self-feed through a conventional suction pipe. The hopper design maintains a head of material above the pump suction, preventing starvation.
Suitable for materials with viscosities up to 1,000,000 cP including dewatered sludge cakes (solids content 20β40%), food pastes, construction mortars, clay, and gelatinous chemical precipitates.
The hopper can be equipped with live-bottom agitators, vibrating side walls, or a rotating sweep arm to prevent bridging of cohesive materials. Stainless steel hopper construction is standard for food and pharmaceutical applications.
